GRIME BUSTING IN GROUP 6 – MEET THE CLEAN TEAM

It is our collective and individual responsibility… to preserve and tend to the world in which we all live.’’

Dalai Lama

At IPS, the students are environmentally conscious and often take action to keep our school buildings and outdoor areas tidy and litter free. Group 6 decided to take this action further, becoming eco role-models and extending their support to the wider community in Hilversum.

Together with other local primary schools, they participated in a cleanup event called ‘In 1 Dag Schoon’.

This unique project aims to clear neighbourhoods of cans, bottles and general litter, ensuring a safe and clean environment for everyone to enjoy. Whilst raising community spirits, Group 6 were also rewarded for their efforts! For each piece of litter collected and photographed, they earned €0,11. Recording their progress through the Rubbiz app, the students earned a total of €50. What a fantastic achievement!

Together with parent volunteers, Group 6 soon had the neighbourhood surrounding the school gleaming. A huge well done to them for their success at this event – I think we can all take inspiration from their efforts!

“The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved.”
